Annual report 2025

The international climate of crisis and conflict over territory, ideology, trade and information in which we work worsened in 2025 and in the early months of 2026. However, 2025 was also a year rich in achievements and successes, as well as uncertainty and learning. (...) As reflected in the 15 events organized in 2025 to mark Fondation Hirondelle’s 30th anniversary, the Foundation enjoys growing recognition and a thriving network of partners.

The Fondation Hirondelle Board appreciates the resilience of our field staff, who carry out their work in the face of pressures and danger. They are supported by the professional and efficient team at our headquarters in Lausanne. The results we achieve are made possible by our funders, who trust Fondation Hirondelle and understand that independent journalism is essential to achieving stability and peace, as well as to countering the scourge of disinformation.

RNL is our reference point. When we hear a rumour, we wait to verify it on RNL before believing it.

If we are able to continue working, it is because media organisations like Fondation Hirondelle have not abandoned us. Thanks to their support, we have survived as a media outlet and continue to grow.
